Stem pessary
In order to insert this contraceptive device into the uterus, the ends would be glued together with a drop of honey. The honey would melt due to the body’s warmth, causing the ends to once again spread apart. Since the use of this type of pessary was associated with high health risks, its practice was not recommended.
